I’ve NEVER ordered anything from SHEIN, but I’m sure like most of you, I’m bombarded with their ads on Facebook. I was explaining it to David because he couldn’t believe what I paid for all five pieces … $100! SERIOUSLY! I was telling him it was like Wish but for clothes. From all of the reviews it does seem like it can be hit or miss and honestly it was for me (I would suggest reading ALL reviews before ordering an item). I’m returning the white dress. The top was incredibly see through even after trying a few little tricks that I know. You could still see my bosoms! So that’s going back. I wish that it came in black because then it wouldn’t matter. I’m also returning the blue and white toile blouse. I LOVED the pattern but I couldn’t get the collar to lay right. If it had buttons and buttoned down then it would’ve been perfect. I guess I could tack it down with a couple of stitches . . . I haven’t dropped the packages off at the post office yet, so maybe I’ll reconsider that one. Also, I was SHOCKED at how fast everything got here. I placed my order on June 22nd and was told that I would receive it by July 7th. It arrived in two separate packages (which was fine) the first one on June 30th and the second one on July 1st.
This seersucker dress is by far my FAVORITE! I’m wearing an XS and it’s a little bit longer than in the picture (I am 4’11” after all). I normally don’t like smocking around my stomach because I feel like it shows EVERYTHING! The smocking on this dress falls just below your bust and the flowing fabric is very flattering. So eat and drink away! Also, the material feels great. It actually feels like the Vineyard Vines Harbor Shirt that I just bought. From what I’ve read on SHEIN’s comments some material can be quite see through. This material is NOT.
I’ve been looking at this set for awhile and I’ve got to say I’m shocked that it’s lined! Everything that I’d read about tweed from SHEIN said that it wouldn’t be. I’m wearing an XS in the blazer and the shorts. The shorts fit perfectly and so does the blazer but the arms are a little long. If you watched my video then you know my trick is to pull the sleeves up and put a rubber band over the sleeves to hold them in place. My grandma used to do this with her sweaters! LOL This set comes in blue and white. I’m so in love with it that I think I’m also going to get the white shorts and blazer. FYI, the blazer and shorts are sold separately.
I thought this would be a cute date night outfit. It’s so hot here in Texas but when you go into a restaurant you feel like you’re going to freeze to death! Which is why I love the blazer. I’m always carrying a sweater or wrap with me because you never know what the restaurants going to feel like or if they’re going to place you right in the pathway of the AC. This blazer will also be cute with white jeans, pants or jeans in the fall. I’m wearing the Scuba Tank bodysuit from Abercrombie. If you read my summer essentials post than you know to size up one if you’re ordering the white bodysuit.
Ok, so this is the top that I LOVE but I can’t get the collar to lay right. It looks like it’s going to feel like a cotton poplin shirt but it actually has a little bit of a silky feel to it. I’m sure I could also wash it and just iron the collar to lay right, so we’ll see. I’m wearing J. Crew’s runaround jean in girls size 12 and this is the brown belt that I have on. I should’ve taken the bodysuit off when I put this shirt on by frankly I was in a hurry, Kricket wasn’t having fun with my try on session.
Like I said earlier, this dress is so cute. I originally bought it because of the back. I just wish the top was as thick as the skirt. It’s just too see through for me but I love the pattern, the fit, everything. I wish it came in black then the thickness wouldn’t be so important.
