I’ve got to say I was a little iffy on this recipe but I think like most people I’m always looking for new side dishes so that dinner doesn’t seem so routine.
The bacon gives the cabbage this amazing flavor that’s sure to please everyone.
Here’s what you’re going to need:
- One head of cabbage
- Light olive oil
- Fresh cracked black pepper
- Pink Himalayan Sea salt
- Parchment paper or cooking spray
- Baking sheet
Heat oven up to 400 degrees.
First, start out by washing cabbage, pat dry and cut into about 1” slices.
Lay cabbage rounds on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or cooking spray.
You need a piece of bacon for each cabbage round so cook accordingly. Lay on a paper towel lined plate to absorb the grease.
Pour one tablespoon of olive oil on each cabbage round. Season with salt and pepper. I like to do 3-4 cranks of the black pepper mill and 2-3 cranks of pink sea salt. Tip: bacon is naturally salty so go light on the salt. This is why I prefer the pink sea salt. It has a lighter taste.
Crumble bacon slice and put on top of cabbage round. Repeat for each round.
Cook for 20 minutes at 400 degrees.
